190 applications received to the CONTACT Workshop – CERIC-CEI Training in advanced material characterisation in Large Scale Research Infrastructures
31 May 2017

The CONTACT workshop has received great interest from the international scientific community. 190 applications have been received in less than one month, coming from all over the world.
The purpose of the workshop, organized within the framework of the H2020 project ACCELERATE and of the CEI co-funded project CONTACT, is to bring together researchers from different parts of the world, mainly from Central and Eastern Europe (with a focus on Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, FYROM, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine), to get them acquainted with the techniques available at CERIC for the analysis and synthesis of materials and biomaterials in large-scale facilities, and with the related access procedures.
Up to thirty participants, selected on their motivations and field of expertise, will have the chance to attend theoretical lectures and practical tutorials on synchrotron beamlines. Twenty of them, from target countries, will benefit from a grant covering the full costs of travel and accommodation.

The CONTACT workshop is organized in the framework of the CONTACT project – co-funded by the Central European Initiative – and of the ACCELERATE project, which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement N. 731112
