CERIC at the Bulgarian Presidency Flagship Conference on Research Infrastructures
22-23 March 2018, Sofia - Bulgaria

One of the two main events in 2018 in the field of Research Infrastructures was the conference organised within the frame of the Bulgarian presidency of the European Council and supported by the European Commission. Following the publication of the Commission's staff paper Sustainable European Research Infrastructures, A Call for Action, the objective of the conference was to reflect on the document, explore and discuss a concrete set of actions to foster sustainability and impact of European research infrastructures on industry, policy and society.

The programme of the conference included the following sessions:

  • Research Infrastructures Challenges beyond 2020
  • European Synchronisation of RI policies
  • Exploring synergies
  • Excellence innovators
  • European Call for Action on long-term sustainability of RIs

CERIC Director, Jana Kolar, was a member of the Programme Committee and was strongly involved in the event. She had prepared the input paper for the discussion of the session European Synchronisation of RI policies, in which also Salvatore La Rosa, the member of the CERIC General Assembly, was one of the panelists. Dr. Kolar also moderated the session “Excellence innovators” and contributed to the Conference Conclusions.
