The Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium, CERIC–ERIC, is a multidisciplinary Research Infrastructure open for basic and applied research in all fields of Materials, Biomaterials and Nanotechnology. Position description
Doctoral student full-time (40 hours / week) position in the Division of Experimental Physics, Laboratory for Ion Beam Interactions at the Croatian CERIC Representing Entity, the Rudjer Bošković Institute, for research work on the development of ion beam methods based on the use of ion beams from accelerators related to experiments/projects approved by the CERIC-ERIC consortium, for the period of 5 years. Enrolment to PhD studies in physics is obligatory. The position is associated with special working conditions (ionizing radiation, category B) and medical examination is necessary prior to contracting.

Eligibility Criteria
Prerequisites for Appointment to Assistant Position: In addition to the general conditions for employment, applicants must meet the requirements stipulated in Article 43 in the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act and the following additional criteria: The candidate should be able to demonstrate recognized excellence in study and research through, for example, relevant awards and specific achievements as well as participation in scientific research, co-authorship of scientific papers, and presentation at scientific meetings.
Applications should include: resume, appropriate diploma or certificate of completion of the study, a transcript of passed courses and GPA, e-mail contact of at least one person for a recommendation, and other evidence that the conditions and additional criteria are fulfilled.
Appointment to an Assistant position is for a temporary period of 5 years, probation period is 6 months. Doctoral students are required to enroll in doctoral studies.
