CERIC statement on Ukraine

CERIC condemns the aggression of Russia on Ukraine, a severe breach of international law, which cannot and should not be tolerated. It will take a big toll on the Ukrainian population, and have a global impact. The consequences of this war are tragic and we hope for a swift and diplomatic resolution of the conflict.

We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian population. We are contributing to humanitarian aid and are preparing to host our colleagues from the Ukrainian scientific community, seeking shelter in EU. Please stay tuned for updates.

We very much regret that, despite our long-standing cooperation with the scientific communities from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, the Consortium is forced to provisionally suspend its support to the users coming from these two countries. As a result, all approved proposals of these users will be rescheduled to a more suitable time.

While implementing this general policy, we recognise that many researchers in Russia are publicly condemning the aggression, at a risk of their own safety and professional career, and we will consider activities to support them.
